Downward trends continue

Down, down, down – that’s the trend with local COVID-19 numbers.

Over the past two days, we’ve seen zero deaths related to the virus reported by CK Public Health, and just 10 people in hospital directly due to COVID-19. Four of those are in the ICU.

Overall, we are down to just three places of outbreak, however, one, a congregate living setting, is a new outbreak. The other two are stubborn outbreaks still at St. Andrew’s Residence and Village on the Ridge.

However, there were 79 new cases reported, with a daily average of 39.5 being above the rolling weekly average of 35. Again, these numbers are quite inaccurate, as PCR testing has for weeks been limited to only those with symptoms and in high-risk groups. Actual COVID-19 numbers are likely much higher, according to Public Health officials.
