No injuries in two house fires

Crews battle the fire on Zone Road 4.

Chatham-Kent fire crews dealt with a pair of rural house fires yesterday.

A problem with the furnace sparked a $200,000 house fire on O’Neill Line Thursday morning.

Chatham-Kent firefighters got the call shortly before 7:30 a.m. and crews from Ridgetown responded.

According to fire officials, the fire quickly spread from the furnace room into the attic.

No one was injured in the fire.

Meanwhile, no one was injured in a fire on Zone Road 4 Thursday afternoon.

Crews from Thamesville, Bothwell and Orford responded to 29657 Zone Road 4 about 3:15 p.m. to battle the blaze.

Damage is estimated at $250,000, and the cause is undetermined at this time.
