Spitting leads to assault charge
On Monday afternoon, Chatham-Kent police responded to a disturbance on Wellington Street West in Chatham, between two men known to each other.
Through investigation, police learned that the man spit at the other man during a verbal argument.
A 34-year-old man, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with assault.
Vehicle stolen in Wheatley
Sometime between Sunday at 7 p.m. and Monday at 6 a.m., someone stole a white 2018 Jeep Compass from a residence on Little Street.
The vehicle was last seen with Ontario license plates BRWP 117.

Theft in Wallaceburg
Sometime between Sunday at 11 p.m. and Monday at 5:45 a.m., someone entered a truck that was parked on Larkwood Street and stole a Husqvarna soft-cut 150 concrete saw, Stihl 14” concrete saw, Stihl 12” concrete saw, Stihl 9” concrete saw, Marshalltown hand floats, Marshalltown 6″ concrete edgers, and Marshalltown permashape finishing trowels.
Total value of the theft has been estimated at $10,000.

Sometime between Friday at 5 p.m. and Monday at 8 a.m., someone forced their way into a fenced compound on Queen Street.
Once inside, the suspect(s) cut the lock to a sea container and stole approximately 1,700 pounds of two-inch copper/lead wires that were set aside for disposal.
