Break and Enter charges

Shortly after 7 p.m. last night, Chatham-Kent police responded to a break and enter in progress at a residence on King Street East in Chatham.

An observant citizen called police when they saw a man forcing his way into the home.

Officers located the man inside the residence with a backpack containing various electronics.

A 32-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with break and enter.

Sticky situation in Tilbury

Last night, around 8:30 p.m., police responded to a family dispute in Tilbury.

Through investigation, police learned that the man threatened a family member while in possession of a stick, and damaged her car.

As the man was placed under arrest, he began screaming and resisted, police say.

A 19-year-old Tilbury man was taken into custody and charged with assault with a weapon, uttering threats, mischief and resisting arrest.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Tilbury woman charged with assault

Shortly after 10 p.m. last night, police responded to a domestic dispute in Tilbury.

Through investigation, police learned that a disturbance between the woman and her fiancé escalated into a physical altercation.

The woman also threatened another family member who was in the home at the time, police say.

A 22-year-old Tilbury woman was arrested and charged with assault and uttering threats. She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Collisions

Yesterday afternoon, police responded to a two-vehicle collision on Queens Line near the westbound Hwy. 401 on ramp.

Minor injuries were reported.

Total damage was estimated at $30,000.

The collision remains under investigation.

Around 11:30 p.m. last night, police responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Wheatley Road near Zion Road.

The driver lost control of her vehicle, left the roadway and came to rest in the ditch.

Minor injuries were reported.

Total damage was estimated at $15,000.

The 33-year-old woman was charged with careless driving and failing to have an insurance card.
