More reopening charges
Old Colony Mennonite churches in Dresden, Charing Cross again faced reopening charges over the weekend.
Yesterday morning, Chatham-Kent police responded to the report of a gathering at the Old Colony Mennonite Church on Grove Mills Line in Dresden.
Through investigation, the officer determined that the church was in violation of the current regulations.
A 50-year-old Dover Centre man was charged with failing to comply with a continued 7.0.2 order as per Ontario Regulation 364/20, of the Reopening Ontario Act, 2020.
Also yesterday morning, police responded to the report of a gathering at the Old Colony Mennonite Church on Cundle Line in Charing Cross. The officer determined that the church was in violation of the current regulations.
A 40-year-old Dresden man was charged with failing to comply with reopening restrictions.
And also on Sunday morning, police responded to the report of a gathering at the Old Colony Mennonite Church on Wheatley Road in Wheatley.
This gathering remains under investigation.
Assault in Wallaceburg
Yesterday morning, police responded to a disturbance at Walmart in Wallaceburg.
Through investigation, police learned that the man, who was a customer in the store, threatened and assaulted an employee.
A 46-year-old Windsor man is charged with assault and uttering threats.
Dishwasher stolen in B&E
Early yesterday morning, someone forced their way into a vacant house on Wade Street in Chatham, causing about $2,000 damage.
Once inside, the suspect(s) broke kitchen cupboards to access a stainless steel Bosch dishwasher, valued at $1,200.

Theft from church
Around 4:30 a.m. this morning, police responded to an alarm at St. Andrew’s United Church on William Street.
Through investigation, police learned that unknown suspect(s) entered the church and stole a computer.

Possession charges
Yesterday morning, police responded to the report of suspicious people in a vehicle on Selkirk Street in Chatham.
Through investigation, police learned that the Jeep Grand Cherokee was parked on the roadway with no license plates. The vehicle was towed from the roadway.
A 55-year-old Chatham man was additionally found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine, police say. He was arrested and charged with drug possession.
