Two more long-term care homes in Chatham-Kent have declared COVID-19 outbreaks.

Tilbury Manor and Meadow Park in Chatham made the declarations over the weekend.

They join Wallaceburg’s Fairfield Park, which has been active since Jan. 10, as local long-term care homes listed in outbreak. Each home reports one case.

The ebb and flow of active COVID-19 cases continued over the weekend in Chatham-Kent as well, as we saw 42 new cases of the virus from Saturday to Monday morning, with 23 cases deemed resolved.

As a result, our active caseload is once again over 100, sitting at 103.

One fewer person is hospitalized due to COVID-19, leaving three active cases in the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance receiving treatment for the illness.

There are four workplaces currently listed in outbreak, down one from Friday.

Today, we eclipsed the 1,100 case mark to date. It took more than nine months for us to reach the 700-case mark on Dec. 30 (704), but just 26 days to go from 700 to more than 1,100.
