A 54-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with two counts of criminal harassment after he failed to leave his ex-girlfriend alone.
He was arrested on Tuesday and released pending a future court date of Feb. 24, 2021.
Last fall, a woman contacted police for assistance, as the man, her ex-boyfriend, would not cease communicating with her. Officers spoke to the man and cautioned him about his actions.
Between Sept. 14, 2020 and Jan. 18, 2021 the woman received approximately 60 unwanted emails from him. Through investigation, police learned that the woman also observed the man’s vehicle in the area of her work place.
Executed Warrants
The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested a Kingsville man on Tuesday afternoon who was wanted in connection with a shoplifting incident at the Canadian Tire store in Tilbury on Nov. 3, 2020.
Joseph Washburn was turned over to Chatham-Kent Police Service officers and charged with theft under $5000 and being in possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000.
He was released pending a future court date of Feb. 24, 2021.
Theft in Ridgetown
An outdoor storage area at NAPA Auto Parts on Main Street West, Ridgetown, was robbed sometime last week by unknown suspects.
At the time time six acetylene and oxygen tanks were stolen. Total value of the theft has been estimated at $3000.

Storage Units Entered in Blenheim
Three storage units at Access Storage on Allison Line, Blenheim were illegally entered by unknown suspects.
Police are trying to determine wether the incident happened on Monday or Tuesday morning, and working with the owners to determine what, if anything, was stolen.
