Bus shelter, not a tent
Shortly after midnight on Saturday, Chatham-Kent police got the call that someone had started a fire in a bus shelter on St. Clair Street in Chatham.
It turns out a woman had started the fire inside the shelter in an effort to keep warm.
Police arrived to find her standing outside the bus shelter.
Firefighters put out the fire, which resulted in minimal damage.
Police say the woman, a 37-year-old from Chatham, had previously been charged with arson. As a result, she faced a breach of a court order and another arson charge.
Assault charges
A man faces charges following a 5 a.m. wakeup call for neighbours.
Police report they received word at that hour this morning a couple was arguing. It apparently turned physical as well.
A 37-year-old female and a 42-year-old male were involved in a physical altercation. The male was arrested for one count of assault.
