Chatham-Kent has reached another unfortunate milestone with COVID-19, reaching its 400th case on Monday afternoon.
Over the weekend, and on Monday, 12 new cases were reported.
Twenty-six cases are now active and three individuals have been hospitalized.
According to CK Public Health the vast majority of the weekend’s cases are tied to the outbreak at a place of worship in Blenheim.
On Sunday, Ontario reported its highest number of new cases in a day since the onset of the pandemic, with 1,042. Monday saw more than 800 new cases.
Middlesex-London is now the region’s hot spot as it sits at 66 active cases and just reduced the number of patrons allowed to be seated together at a restaurant. Windsor-Essex only has 32 active cases.
Southwestern Public Health (Oxford- Elgin-St. Thomas) is reporting 16 active cases, and Sarnia-Lambton, which two weeks ago reported zero active cases, is now up to seven.
