Members of the Internet Child Exploitation Unit of the Chatham-Kent Police Service, along with Peel Regional Police officers, executed a search warrant in Chatham Friday in relation to a multi-jurisdiction investigation, which included Peel Regional and Peterborough police.
Police say the male suspect was communicating online (for a sexual purpose) between Feb. 5-Aug. 28, with a female in the Peterborough area, that he believed to be under the age of 16. The male was also communicating online (for a sexual purpose) between July 22-Sept. 11, with a female in the Peel Region that he believed to be under the age of 16
A 31- year- old Chatham man was arrested and charged with two counts of Luring a Child under 16 to commit Invitation to Sexual Touching , Attempting to Make Child Pornography, and four counts of Making Sexually Explicit Material Available to Person under 16.
The man has been released with conditions, which he must abide by, with a future court date of Sept. 29.
