A 54-year-old man turned himself into police Friday morning to answer to allegations he sexually assaulted a nine-year-old boy 31 years ago.
Chatham-Kent police say back in 1989, a man allegedly sexually assaulted a nine-year-old boy.
In May 2020, police received information of the offence and conducted an investigation in the matter.
On Friday, the accused walked into the Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters where he turned himself in.
He was arrested for sexual assault and sexual interference. He has been released from custody pending a future court date.
