Sad news out of Wheatley, as a young man drowned Sunday.
Chatham-Kent OPP say emergency crews received a call shortly after 4 p.m. Sunday of a possible drowning in Lake Erie near Wheatley Provincial Park.
Police report a 28-year-old man went into the water and slipped below the surfaces for about 10 minutes.
He was brought out of the water and CPR was conducted.
Police say he was taken to hospital by ambulance, but pronounced dead at the hospital.
A name will be released once next of kin is notified.
