Highway 40 will be getting a makeover next year to address pavement issues on the road.
The work will start west of Wallaceburg, and continue up to the Stanley Line between Sombra and Courtright.
In addition to pavement resurfacing, electrical work, culvert rehabilitation and work on ditches will also take place.
Lane closures will be necessary to complete the work along the heavily travelled route.
“It will be nice if it’s done properly this time,‚” said St. Clair Twp. Mayor Steve Arnold, adding the road has been repaired a number of times in the past only to return to poor condition.
It’s not clear how long construction will last.
