Suspicious man, drug charges

Last night, around 8 p.m., police responded to the report of a suspicious man in the area of the WISH Centre in Chatham.

An officer on general patrol located the man, and through investigation learned that he was wanted on several outstanding warrants.

Upon being searched incident to arrest, the man was found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine.

A 35-year-old Chatham man was additionally charged with drug possession and failing to comply with his release conditions by being in possession of unlawful drugs. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Suspicious man in Wallaceburg

Last night, police received information that a middle-aged man driving a truck on Murray Street attempted to stop two teenage girls who were walking.

The girls did not talk to the man, nor did the man get out of his vehicle.

The truck is described as an older blue four-door truck with part of the front bumper missing and white roof lights.

Failing to comply

On Saturday, the man was released from custody with several conditions. Three of those conditions stated that he was not to communicate with two family members or attend their home.

On Sunday, police say the man contacted one of the family members and then attended their home yesterday.

Last night, police located the man and he was arrested.

A 20-year-old Dover Township man has been charged with three counts of failing to comply with his release conditions.

Motor Vehicle Collisions

Yesterday afternoon, police responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Third Line between Merlin Road and Drake Road.

Minor Injuries were reported.

Total damage was estimated at $3,500.

A 17-year-old St. Joachim teen was charged with careless driving.

Shortly after 5 p.m. yesterday, police responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Kent Bridge Road near Pavey Line.

The driver lost control of his vehicle, left the roadway and struck a hydro pole.

No one was injured.

Total damage was estimated at $12,000.

A 24-year-old Dresden man was charged with careless driving.

  1. Why don’t Chatham-Kent police officers Patrol Harvey Street in Chatham because the next time I i catch someone in my yard someone is going to get hurt crackheads stealing all the time on Harvey and cops just drive by do your job f***
