File this one under “Where’s the fire?” and “Why the heck are you travelling so far from home during the COVID-19 pandemic?”

On March 30 at 9:55 a.m. Chatham-Kent OPP clocked a vehicle sizzling along at more than 160 km/h on Highway 401 near the Kent Bridge Road exit.

The speed limit is 100 km/h. A speed of 160 km/h translates to 100 mph.

The driver, a 24-year-old Brampton resident, was charged with Race a Motor Vehicle, and is scheduled to appear in court on June 29 to answer to the charge.

This charge includes an immediate seven-day vehicle impoundment.
