The Beer Stores in Chatham-Kent are taking cash only following a cyber-attack late last week.
Stores across the province were impacted by the cyber attack recently and have implemented Internal protocols, said Bill Walker, media relations for the company.
The attack had no impact on customers’ personal Visa or debit information being compromised, Walker confirmed.
As a result, some stores have been temporarily using cash only and there is still no confirmation on when their systems will be up and running.
“At those stores, we have stationed a greeter outside to notify customers of the computer issue, and to remind them of our social distancing policies, which include restricting the number of customers in store at any given time,” Walker said.
Terrible to be passing cash back and forth during this Covid pandemic. Just shut them down.
