Assault charges

Last night, police responded to a disturbance in the area of Cornhill Street and Sheldon Avenue in Chatham.

Through investigation, police learned that during a verbal argument, the man assaulted his girlfriend.

The 33-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with assault.  He was released pending a future court date of May 27.

Alleged gas grabber nabbed 

Yesterday afternoon, OPP located a man wanted in connection with gas drive-offs.

Stanley Johnson-Isaac, 44, of Walpole Island was arrested. He was released pending a future court date of May 26.

Stolen truck in Thamesville

Sometime between Monday at 7 p.m. and Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. unknown suspect(s) stole a dark grey 2018 Ford F-150 pick-up truck from a residence on Ann Street in Thamesville.

The truck was last seen with Ontario license plates 77FR18.

 Theft of tools in Chatham

Sometime late Monday night or early Tuesday morning, unknown suspect(s) entered an unlocked garage on King Street West and stole various tools.

Theft from storage unit in Chatham

Sometime over the past week, unknown suspect(s) entered a storage unit on Richmond Street and stole a television and box of watches.

Collision in Wheatley

Last night, police responded to a two-vehicle collision on Erie Street North near Talbot Road.

No one was injured. Total damage was estimated at $10,000.

A 59-year-old man was charged with making a turn not in safety.
