Parents of Catholic students, expect for your kids to have an extra day off next week.

The Ontario English Catholic Teachers’ Association (OECTA), which represents Catholic teachers in the province, said its teachers will not be on the job next Tuesday.

Here in Chatham-Kent, that means secondary and elementary students of the St. Clair Catholic board won’t be going to school that day.

This on top of the PA day this Friday.

According to board officials: “The Board regrets any disruption to student learning and inconvenience to families that these labour actions may cause; however, we acknowledge and respect the fact that sanctions are part of the legal collective bargaining process. We continue to be hopeful that a collective agreement, which is fair to all parties, can be negotiated at the provincial bargaining table.”
