Chatham-Kent police raided a Thamesville-area home last night, seizing hidden and unregistered firearms.
The Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) assisted in the execution of the public safety warrant.
Seized was a sawed off Browning 12-guage, a Cooey sawed off shotgun, half a dozen 12-guage shells, a single 22-250 rifle round and stolen license plates, police say.
As the shotguns had their barrels sawed off, they are prohibited weapons. Police say officers fund the guns hidden in the residence and improperly stored.
A 30-year old Thamesville man is charged with numerous firearm related offences, being in possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000 and failing to comply with his Probation Order.
