Shortly before 2 a.m. this morning, an officer on patrol spotted a man riding a bike with no light on King Street West in Chatham.
Chatham-Kent police say the officer stopped the man for the offence and discovered the man was carrying break-in tools and drugs.
A search of the man’s backpack revealed he was in possession of wire cutters, pliers, wrenches, screwdrivers, flashlights, a multi-tool and extractor knife.
The officer also found a quantity of methamphetamine and heroin in the man’s possession, police say.
A 37-year-old man is charged with possession of break-in instruments, two counts of failing to comply with his release conditions, and drug possession.
