A Chatham man faces charges after someone stole scrap metal from a local business recently.
Chatham-Kent police got the call Thursday morning that someone had helped themselves to scrap steel at QPS Mechanical on Hart Place in Chatham.
Police say sometime overnight, someone had damaged a garbage dumpster to get at scrap metal inside. They also chopped a lock off a trailer to snag some more scrap steel.
Officers investigated and identified their suspect.
A 30-year-old Chatham man is charged with mischief and possession of stolen property.
