Not exactly lady-like behaviour

A Chatham woman assaulted multiple police officers Sunday night, according to Chatham-Kent police.

Officers responded to a family dispute last night at a residence in Chatham. The officers learned a woman had punched a family member. As one officer spoke to the people in the home, police say a visibly intoxicated woman threatened to punch the officer in the face.

As she was arrested, she became combative and uncooperative, police say, and wound up spitting in the officer’s face as she was being escorted to the cruiser.

Her unruly behaviour didn’t end there. Police say she continued to be argumentative at police headquarters, and as she was put into a holding cell, she spat on another officer.

A 28-year-old Chatham woman is charged with assault, uttering threats and two counts of assaulting a peace officer.
