Not content with just helping to deliver the annual Chatham Indoor Car Show, XS Productions is shifting its focus to recreational fun.
A week after they host the car show at the John D. Bradley Convention Centre in Chatham from March 1-3, XS launches the Southwestern Ontario Boat & Recreation Show on March 8-10.
Nick Cadotte, of CKXS FM and XS Productions, said the Boat & Rec show is a bit more personal for him.
“I’m a boater,” he said. “We’ve seen through our home show where we started adding a leisure aspect. There’s great demand.”
The event will feature more than 30,000 square feet of boats, campers and recreational vehicles on display at the Convention Centre, with dealers on site to answer questions and provide information to interested visitors.
Cadotte said vendors are showing great enthusiasm towards the event.
“They have all kind of been working together. They want to showcase what Chatham-Kent has to offer,” he said. “We will have ATVs, some chartered fishing booths, anything recreational. It’s what we’re trying to focus on – Chatham-Kent has so many beautiful waterways, parks and recreational destinations.”
As for the timing, just a week after the auto show, Cadotte said it makes sense.
“You have to pick when it’s not full-on season,” he said. “It’s nice for people to be able to come out and shop before the season.”
