B&E couple apprehended

A homeowner caught two thieves in the act of ripping him off on the weekend.

Police say a man forced is way into a home on Charing Cross Road Sunday morning, and stole cash and a pair of watches.

The owner arrived as the man and his female driver were leaving. Police say the owner verbally engaged the man and woman, but they fled before police arrived on scene.

Also, the homeowner tried to follow the two, but the woman sped away.

Police located the vehicle and identified the people they believe were responsible.

A 36-year-old Chatham man is charged with break and enter, and a 25-year-old Chatham woman is charged with being a party of the offence of break and enter, as well as dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
