A Walpole Island woman faces charges after someone evaded police late last month.
Chatham-Kent police say on Dec. 29 around 11:30 p.m., an officer spotted a woman driving in Dresden, a woman who was suspended from driving due to unpaid fines.
The officer tried to pull the woman over, but police said she sped off and drove carelessly through town to evade police.
A warrant was issued for her arrest.
On Sunday afternoon, officers found the woman leaving a business in Dresden. Upon being searched, the officers found a quantity of crystal methamphetamine on her, police say.
A 30-year-old Walpole Island woman is charged for driving under suspension, careless driving, flight from police, and drug possession.
