No one was injured in a house fire in Tilbury shortly after midnight, but the home was ravaged.
Fire officials say the owner of the home on Massey Drive noticed flames on the exterior of the home above the garage and called 911.
Firefighters from Station 19, Tilbury, responded and arrived to find the exterior wall engulfed in flames, with the fire extending into the attic.
Officials say high winds accelerated the fire, and firefighters from Merlin and Wheatley were also brought in to help battle the blaze.
The aerial ladder from Tilbury was employed to knock down the bulk of the fire and help prevent the fire from jumping to neighbouring homes.
Fire officials are ruling it as an accidental fire.
Damage is estimated at $285,000.
