Chatham-Kent police remind motorists to not drive around barricades when they’re in place on roadways.

They issued several tickets to stubborn drivers who drove around barricades that closed the scene of an accident yesterday morning at the intersection of Ridge Line and Harwich Road.

That crash took place shortly before 9:30 a.m. when two vehicles collided. Both drivers had to be taken to hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police closed the intersection to safely remove the drivers and the vehicles, and to reconstruct the accident during their investigation.

People who drove around the barricades and were ticketed face fines of $110 and the loss of three demerit points.
