Talk about a weird night for police in Chatham-Kent.
In Tilbury, officers responded to a 911 call from a woman who reported a man was threatening her. Police say the man was released from custody back in mid-June with several conditions, one of which was to not communicate with the woman.
As officers arrived at the residence, they spotted the man and woman inside the house, police say. The officers entered the home, as they feared for the woman’s safety.
But once inside, they were “greeted” by the woman, police say, who denied the man was there. Officers found a man hiding in the dryer in the basement.

The officers also went to arrest a 38-year-old Tilbury woman for facilitating a breach. Police say as one officer took her into custody, the woman kicked the officer and spat in his face.
The woman is now also charged with two counts of assaulting a peace officer.
Early this morning, an argument in a Chatham home led to mischief charges.
Police say a man and woman were arguing, when the man left the house and smashed the windshield of the woman’s car. He fled prior to police arrival.
But apparently he didn’t go very far, as officers found the guy hiding in a nearby bush.
