On Monday morning, police received word that someone left a dog in a vehicle in a parking lot on Keil Drive in Chatham.
Due to the high heat and humidity, officers charged the owner, a 58-year-old Chatham man, with leaving an animal unattended in a motor vehicle when weather conditions are not suitable.
Police remind people that if you see an animal left in a hot car, contact PAWR, the OSPCA or your local police service.
So sad to see that in this day and age with all the education on this that anyone would leave an animal in a hot car. Relieved to hear that charges have been laid.
