Service workers at Village on the Thames Retirement Residence voted 89 per cent in favour of a new three-year collective agreement.
The contract was negotiated by Southwestern Ontario Health Care and Service Workers Union, CLAC Local 303.
Highlights of the agreement include two per cent wage increases for each year of the contract, a $75 signing bonus, an increase in benefits, and an increase to the in-lieu of premium.
“Bargaining this spring was a challenging process,” said Kate do Forno, CLAC representative, in a media release. “The negotiating committee put in hard work and together we were able to create increases and additional benefits for the members.”
