Employers in the Wheatley and Tilbury area reached out to Chatham-Kent Economic Development Services to assist them in attracting job-seekers to address their operational needs.
As a result, what started as a few employers has evolved into 10 area employers eager to recruit well over 200 jobs, a number that is expected to go up before Monday’s Job Fair.
Geoff Wright, Business Development Specialist with Chatham-Kent Economic Development Services said in a media release, “The variety of jobs is encouraging as it shows that local employers see the value in expanding their workforce and investing in the Municipality of Chatham-Kent.”
The list of local area employers registered to attend are, RS Poles, Autoliv Canada, Presteve Foods, Global Vehicle Systems, Pinchin Ltd., US Ecology, MAHLE Filter Systems, The Tilbury Auto Mall, Countryside Canners and Dockside Restaurant will be at the job fair. In addition, Canadian Executive Search Group and the Job Shoppe will be promoting available jobs in the area.
The Job Fair will be held at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Tilbury on June 11 from 11:30 am to 6:30 pm.
There are over thirty job titles that include General Labourer, Electrical Apprentice, Electrician, Millwright, Mechanical and Electrical Designer, PLC Programmer, Robotics Technician, HR Generalist, Financial Controller and Supervisor, Quality Parts Inspector and Quality Assurance Technician. As well there are Licensed Technicians, Parts Manager, Service Advisor, Bartender, Wait Staff, Bus Person, Dishwasher, Cooks and Caretaker.
Job seekers are encouraged to pre-register at Eventbrite where a full list of jobs are available. Participants should bring their resume and be prepared for short on-site interviews.
