Dresden Raceway will be kicking off the 2018 harness racing season this Sunday with a 10-race card.

Ontario’s Little Saratoga has been racing for over 140 years and has 11 race dates for the 2018 season starting this weekend and ending on Civic Holiday Monday.

“We are looking forward to another great year,” track announcer Gary Patterson said in a media release. “Our handles have increased consistently over the last three seasons and we are looking for more of the same this year.”

Harness fans from all over can watch and wager on Dresden Raceway through HPI.

The driver’s colony at Dresden hasn’t changed from last year with Tyler Borth, Garrett Rooney, Lorne House, Nick Steward and Donnie Rankin as the base drivers.

Rooney was the leading dash driver last year at Dresden.

The feature race is the fifth race which will offer up N/W $15,000 Lifetime for a purse of $4,600.

Opening Day will feature many giveaways as prizes will be up for grabs including a $25 gift package from McDonalds, a $25 gift package from Shopper’s Drug Mart in Wallaceburg, $25 Tim Horton’s Package, a voucher from the track kitchen as well as a pizza from Mario’s Pizza in Dresden.

Thamesville Home Hardware has donated a BBQ that will be given away on the last race date to one luck patron through a ballot draw that will be open all season long.

Post Time is slated for 1:30pm Sunday.
