You can run, but …

One ran away … for a while, and the other tried to run but got caught. Either way, these guys face a lot of charges.

On April 29, a man drove past police officers on patrol in Blenheim. The officers were familiar with the man, police say, and knew he was wanted on a warrant, so they took up pursuit.

The man abandoned the vehicle and ran off on foot, eluding police. Additional warrants for his arrest resulted.

On Saturday, officers on patrol in Shrewsbury spotted the man riding a bike. Police say he again tried to evade police, but the officers found him hiding in a doghouse.

A 28-year-old Dresden man is charged with three counts of failing to comply, one count each of driving while under suspension, using altered plates, operating an unsafe vehicle, using improper tires and using a plate not authorized for the vehicle.

Saturday afternoon, officers spotted another familiar face, one police say was not supposed to be behind the wheel of a vehicle.

Yet, there it was.

The officers took up pursuit, police say, and the man tried to evade them by making frequent turns down side streets in Chatham.

He then abandoned the vehicle and tried to flee on foot, but was quickly caught.

A 31-year-old Chatham man is charged with two counts of drug possession, one of possession for the purpose of trafficking, three counts of driving while disqualified, and two counts of failing to comply.
