Building on the success of the first Positivity Day held last year, this year has been expanded to include 12 Days of Positivity, and first responders in the community are joining in.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service is teaming up with other first responders to do something positive for their community, according to CKPS Const. Kelly Helbin.
“Themed days, which begin on September 4 and run through to Positivity Day on September 15, will focus on celebrating the many great aspects of our community,” Helbin said in a release. “On Thursday, September 7, the ‘United Sirens of C-K’ (police, fire, EMS and United Way) have teamed up for the designated ‘First Responders Day.’ Starting at 9 a.m. customer’s groceries will be bagged and carried to their vehicles by the members who make up ‘United Sirens of C-K.’”
They will be at Wallaceburg No Frills from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.; Dresden Foodland between 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.; Blenheim Food Basics from 1 p.m. and 2 p.m.; and Tilbury No Frills from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Also, at each location, donations of canned goods will be collected and then delivered to the town’s food bank or Salvation Army.
