A Wallaceburg man will have to answer to a slew of charges after Chatham-Kent police believe they tracked down their motorcycle bandit recently.

Police say the man wanted in connection with a recent Wallaceburg home invasion and a number of other crimes was apprehended July 27 on Huffs Side Road near Thamesville. During the resulting search, the officers found him to be in possession of drugs.

On July 22, someone conducted a home invasion in Wallaceburg. A man armed with a knife, rifle and handgun forced his way inside a home and threatened the occupants, before fleeing on a black motorcycle with a female.

Officers tracked down the bike, but called off pursuit for safety reasons.

As a result of the July 27 arrest, a 50-year-old Wallaceburg man is charged with break and enter, extortion, two counts of pointing a firearm, three counts of weapons dangerous, two counts of using an imitation firearm in the commission of an offence, utter threats to destroy property, and two counts of possession of a controlled substance – one for marijuana and the other for methamphetamine.
