A Chatham man faces assault charges after brandishing a knife in front of his ex-girlfriend, police say.
According to police, earlier this week, an argument between the man and the woman began over the ownership of a dog. At that time, the man pulled a hunting knife and held it up to the woman’s chest. She left.
Last night, police say the man showed up at a Chatham address and asked to speak to the woman. He sported a pocket knife and it is said he was standing in an “intimidating manner,” police say.
He fled the area as police were called, but was arrested a short time later.
