The power of social media helped the Chatham-Kent police locate a suspect yesterday.
Police requested the public’s assistance in identifying a man who attempted to steal $800 worth of tablets from Walmart on St. Clair St. in Chatham yesterday afternoon and his photo from a security camera was posted on social media.
Last night, a 27-year-old Chatham man turned himself in to police. He was arrested and charged with theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by a crime under $5,000.
He was released pending a future court date of December 21.
