Quick actions by a rural homeowner helped police nab a couple of break-in suspects Sunday night, but not after a lengthy pursuit

Police say they received a call about 6:46 p.m. in regards to a break-in on Finn Line. The homeowner walked in on the crime in progress, called the cops and took off to follow the suspects’ vehicle.

Officers found the black van in question, and the driver turned off her lights as she approached Blenheim, police say.

The pursuit continued, and police were able to co-ordinate and lay down a Stop Stick on Creek Road.

Despite the punctured tires, the van continued to try to get away before finally coming to a halt on Lacroix Street, after ramming a cruiser, police say.

The driver and passenger fled on food, but officers slapped on the cuffs a short distance away.

Police say it turns out the van was stolen from Fletcher, and was full of stolen goods.

The driver, a 35-year-old Windsor woman is charged with several property and driving offences, while the passenger, a 28-year-old Windsor man, faces property offences.
