Moraviantown First Nation is still reeling after tragedy struck on the weekend.

About 1:40 a.m. Saturday morning, a car struck three pedestrians, ultimately killing one.

Police say a Chrysler 300 driven by a 21-year-old Moraviantown man turned onto Centre Street in the community, and struck the three pedestrians, a male, 24, and two teenaged girls, 16 and 17.

All three were taken to hospital, where the 16-year-old girl succumbed to her injuries.

The male is now in hospital in London, while the other teen has been treated and released.

The driver wasn’t hurt in the mishap.

The OPP Traffic Collision team is investigating.
