Chatham-Kent OPP responded Thursday morning to a report of a westbound transport truck stuck on Hwy. 401 near Communication Rd. The truck, hauling a modular home, was not able to safely pass through the construction zone.
As a result, the 50-year-old male driver of Sault Saint Marie, Michigan, was charged with fail to maintain daily log, fail to surrender completed daily inspection report, over width load, over length combination of vehicles, and interfere with traffic, all contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
Hwy. 401 westbound, between Kent Bridge Rd. and Queens Line, was closed for several hours to allow for the safe removal of the transport truck.
