Chatham-Kent Police are charging a pair of local drivers in connection with two serious accidents earlier this year.
Police completed their investigation into a Sept. 28 accident where, shortly after midnight, an officer got flagged down on Pinehurst Line to attend a single-vehicle crash.
A 38-year-old Richmond Hill man and a 48-year-old Chatham woman were taken to hospital, with the woman being transferred to London hospital with life-threatening injuries.
She is back in Chatham for continuing medical care, but now faces charges of stunt driving and careless driving, as police say their investigation indicates she was travelling at a high rate of speed
And in relation to a July 16 crash, police yesterday charged a 36-year-old Wallaceburg man with careless driving and failing to properly wear a seatbelt.
The crash occurred on Swan Line between Baldoon Road and Border road. The driver was heading eastbound when he lost control, left the road and rolled his van. He was taken to hospital in Wallaceburg, but also had to be transferred to London due to his injuries.
Both drivers have Dec. 21 court dates.
