Some mud slinging resulted in charges for a man in Chatham yesterday afternoon.
Around 4:30 p.m., police responded to an assault complaint at a business on Richmond St. in Chatham.
While in the drive-thru, a driver was asked for cigarettes and money from a man he did not recognize. When the driver refused, the man through a hand full of dirt in his face.
Officers located the man on Keil Dr. and he was taken into custody. The 54-year-old man has been charged with assault with a weapon. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
