AMO appointment should foster idea sharing

Sir: Congratulations to Mayor Randy Hope on his appointment to the board of directors of the Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO). In this position he will be able to discuss such things as climate change, interest arbitration, policing and dealing with waste.

AMO represents 444 municipal governments, large and small, all of them in Ontario. I have met and talked with several members of the old Stoney Creek council in the past three decades and they have all expressed interest in the organization.

AMO President, Lynn Dollin, is Deputy Mayor of the Town of Innisfil.

If I can be a little flippant, maybe Mayor Randy might be able to garner some ideas about the future of our ghost railway track, the old CSX track which our municipality owns.
