Police have arrested a man in connection with a collision in May that sent a motorcyclist to the hospital.
On May 21, police were called to a collision at St. Clair Street and McNaughton Avenue in Chatham. The driver of a pick-up truck turned in front of a motorcycle causing him to lose control and hit two other vehicles. The driver stopped momentarily but then left before police arrived. The motorcyclist sustained serious injuries and was transported to hospital for medical attention.
Through investigation, police identified the truck and driver responsible, and yesterday, saw the man driving and a traffic stop was initiated. The 34-year-old Chatham man was arrested on an outstanding warrant and further charged with fail to remain, careless driving, driving with an expired validation and two counts of driving with no insurance. He will be required to attend Provincial Offences Court on September 21.
