The Ontario Fire Marshal’s office is investigating a late-night fire on Talbot Trail that fire officials claim did half a million dollars in damage.
According to Chatham-Kent Fire officials, firefighters from Merlin and Raleigh South stations got called out to 6803 Talbot Trail to a farmhouse fire shortly before midnight. A passerby noticed a large fire at the rear of the house and called it in.
Firefighters spent four hours dousing the blaze, cutting away sections of the house to expose hot spots.
The Fire Marshal, as well as C-K fire investigators, are looking into what triggered the fire.
