A man tried to run from police after being arrested in Wallaceburg late last night.
Around 12:15 a.m., police received information that two intoxicated men had just left an establishment in Wallaceburg. The men were located walking on Murray Street and one man became belligerent with the officer and was placed under arrest for being intoxicated in a public place. The man ran from the officer, however following a short foot chase was taken into custody.
The 21-year-old Sarnia man has been charged with resisting arrest and being intoxicated in a public place. Once sober, he was released pending a future court date of June 10.
