The members of the Chatham-Kent OPP will ‘open the doors’ and invite the community to help celebrate Police Week May 16-20.
The Police Week theme for this year is Discover Policing for Safer Communities. The OPP is inviting the public to come in for a closer look and meet many of its members dedicated to public safety for the people of Chatham-Kent.
Young people are asked to consider a career in law enforcement to make a difference in their communities. Because of the varied nature of police work, people with various types of skills and experiences are an asset and encouraged to develop those strengths in the field of policing.
Everyone is welcome to attend the Chatham-Kent OPP detachment, 535 Park Avenue East, on Thursday, May 19. Tours will take place at 3:00 p.m., 4:15 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. The detachment will celebrate with the community through a variety of activities, while enjoying a barbecue. There will be:
- Detachment tours
