Police are investigating after three suspicious fires on three properties close to each other Sunday night in North Kent, sometime between 9:15 pm and 10:30 pm.
Chatham-Kent Police Service reports all three structure fires involved an old barn or shed with no one living on the properties.
The first fire was called in at 9:17 p.m. in the area of Grove Mills Line and Bear Creek Road. CK Fire Department to a steel clad shed engulfed in flames. They were able to put out the fire but only after the structure had been lost. The value of the shed was estimated at $500 and the shed contents to be approximately $250.
Less than an hour later at 10:09 pm, OPP were notified of a structure fire in the area of Bent Path Road and Smith Falls Line in their jurisdiction. This fire was in close proximity and just north east of Grove Mills Line and involved an old barn set ablaze.
Than at 10:29 pm, police were called to a third structure fire in the area of Cider Mill Line and Brick Road. CK Fire Department responded to an old wooden shed destroyed by a fire. CK Fire was able to put out the fire. The shed was old with no known contents of value. Initial estimates of damage were $200.
There are no known injuries resulted from any of these fires and no other properties were affected.
