Yesterday morning, police were called to the Shoppers Drug Mart on Queen Street in Chatham in regards to a shoplifting complaint. The man grabbed a Gillette Fusion razor kit and Gillette Fusion Proshield blades and left the store, making no attempt to pay for the items valued at about $77. Officers were given the man’s physical description and he was arrested a short time later.
Police learned the accused was currently bound by conditions not to attend that specific location or any Shoppers Drug Mart in Chatham-Kent due to smiliar incidents earlier in the month.
The 20-year-old Chatham man was charged with theft under $5000, possession of stolen property obtained by a crime under $5000 and two counts of failing to comply. He was transported to the court house pending a bail hearing.
