A man facing arson charges in connection with a March 9 fire at an apartment building in Cedar Springs is facing additional charges after police found nearly $4,000 in drugs at his home.
Police arrested a 24-year old Chatham man who has been charged with arson endangering life, arson damage to property and break and enter as a result of the fire that caused $80,000 damage to an eight unit complex. There were no injuries in the fire.
He was released with conditions pending a future court date.
As a result of the investigation officers of the Drug Enforcement Unit attended the area, and conducted a search warrant on the home. where officers located 191.58 grams of processed cannabis marijuana and cannabis resin with a total street value of over $3,800, as well as other items used in the production of a controlled substance.
As a result the 24-year-old man and a 28-year old female have been arrested and charged with production of a controlled substance. Both parties were released from custody with a future court date.
